In the business process of cold calling, efficiency is generating conversations with decision makers. (Effectiveness is converting those conversations into an appointment.)

There are 5 ways to improve efficiency.

Best Practice.  You have a limited number of dials a year, so have a plan that uses each wisely.

Call list.  Build a list of qualified targets over time.  Track and call again later those you spoke with but were not in market at that time. 

Go fast, be precise.  Have automation specifically for cold calling.  The pain (and wasted time) in prospecting is mostly physical and caused by CRMs.

Voicemails and emails.  A small number of returned calls have huge impact on your metrics.  They brand you, plus resonate with the folks who looking for a product like yours.

Gatekeeper skills.  Many Decision makers have gatekeepers, so the conversation may depend on how well you handle their Gatekeeper.
